Jewelry designer making "Mission Jewelry" based upon the materials that would have been gathered and used by my native ancestors at San Antonio missions. My goal is to take these simple materials and elevate them to a higher art form. I'm a mission artists, and the 8th generation of my family to have lived at mission San Jose y Miguel de Aguayo, a UNESCO world heritage site. . The foundation of most pieces are made around the mescal bean, from the Texas mountain laurel tree. This has been used for millennia by the tribes of the southwest for ornamentation. I have an online presence and sell at local markets, festivals and powwows across Texas.
